6 Fun & Eventful Years... 6 Eventful Weeks...

Josh and I celebrated our six year wedding anniversary this past week! We went to see the new Indiana Jones movie and had two evenings out in a row to enjoy together. I love my Joshua & wouldn't want to live life with anyone else! I met him when I was only 15 yrs. old on the bus ride to summer camp. He was the cute guy that sat in front of me and my girlfriends. :) When I got off the bus at camp I noticed a boy from school that I'd had a crush on all year was there, so I pretty much said goodbye to Josh for the week! But we ended up sitting by each other on the bus ride home from camp too and became great friends! I felt like we saw life so much the same, even at that very young age. We fell in love, got married, had two kids, and the rest is history! Well, the long version of our story is too long to blog. :) But I have to say that I'd nominate Josh for an "incredible husband and best friend" award any day. :) We've experienced a lot in the last six years, both wonderful and heart-breaking, but God always directs our eyes to Him and reminds us that all we are and have is because of Him.
These past six weeks, after the arrival of Selah have been pretty eventful too. Jude had a trip to the ER (his first) after taking a spill off a swing, I took a trip to the ER with a gallbladder attack (my first), and my Granddad who lived a wonderful, long life passed away and we were grateful to be able to say goodbye and tell him how much we love him before he went home to be with the Lord.
These photos here were taken today by our friend Tyler, of Wilson River Photography. We had a great time exchanging photo shoots! I got to take photos of him and his beautiful wife. Thank you Tyler for these photos of our growing family.

Brain, Anyone?

Pregnancy brain is a very mysterious thing to me. It seems to get worse with each pregnancy. And postpartum brain appears to be just as bad... will I ever get those cells back?
When I was pregnant with Selah I did a few silly, mindless things like drive with the e-brake on, or try to put 2 cd's in the cd player at one time (one on top of the other)... and Josh and I would have a good laugh about it, because trust me, this is not normal Bethany behavior! I'm a sharp person, I promise! (Or maybe I'm giving myself too much credit, lol) After things like that I'd reassure Josh that my brain would come back after Selah was born.... hmmm... well, I'm not sure how much he believes me after yesterday morning. As Josh was toweling off from a nice shower, I was thinking about my own shower - and happy that I would be getting one that wasn't too rushed or too late in the day (because it was our weekend) and he could keep an eye on the kids. :) Well, I walked over to get into the shower and as he was still inside it drying off and I reached in and turned the water on. He was obviously in shock as my hand was heading for the faucet handle because all he could mutter as it was happening was, "are you really?...." and then the rains came down. :) I think the choppy sleep is finally catching up with me!

A Month Old Already!

Time flies when you're having fun! :) Our little Selah girl is already 4 weeks old. She's growing fast, yet still so tiny. I'm soaking up her "newborn-ness".
Her awake times are increasing each day, and we enjoy seeing her pretty blue eyes and talking to her, telling her how loved she is. :)
Here's two photos with big brother Jude, and then a few snapshots of her sitting on a blanket in her infant seat. We were just chillin' out in the shade in the front yard the other night and I snapped these couple pics of her right before the sprinklers came on and showered the whole backside of me! :)

. Kalea Mae .

Meet this sweetheart, Kalea Mae. She's the new daughter of our good friends Matt & Jana and the little sister of adorable Claire (who you'll see below). Kalea was born just two days after our daughter Selah was born. When visiting family this past weekend for Mother's Day we stopped by to meet this new little bundle and I got to take some photos of her and her big sister! I sure love these girls!

Matt + Gina

I think my brother Matt & sister-in-law Gina are just so cute! We "kids" all got together down at my mom's place on Sunday evening to celebrate Mother's Day and enjoyed the gorgeous spring weather. I got to photograph the two of them last fall in the colorful leaves and this time there were these sweet pink flower petals all over the lawn, under this beautiful tree... ahhhh, so romantic.

. jonas .

Our family went over to visit Jonas' family today (my friend Mauria's new baby boy who is 8 days old) and I got to take some newborn photos of him, which I was really looking forward to!
Jonas is a very handsome, sweet natured baby and was so nice to allow me to curl him up in all sorts of places. :)
The last shot in this line up is of Jonas and Selah talking to one another. They're good buddies already. :)
Oh, and no, I'm not doing photo sessions right now, in case anyone is wondering. I'm still on my baby break. :) And Thank You to everyone for your sweet comments on my Selah post! You're so kind!
