Oh, those brown eyes...

Look at this little man in the fall leaves! Adorable Jacoby has the best smile and gave me lots of them. Such a sweet boy! I love this next picture of him, so busy at work/play in his little hat.

I was so glad we got to enjoy the fall leaves for their family shoot! The trees had just dropped a bunch of them and it was a few days before the rains started. It was cold out, but a beautiful crisp fall evening!

You wonder how Ella (cute, cute baby from a previous post) got so cute?



Well just look at her beautiful parents! :)



I had a great time photographing this family. It was pretty chilly when we did their photo shoot, so we took little breaks so John & Kelly could get Ella warmed up. But after about 40 minutes of that she decided she was done and that she was ready for a little nap! :) We just went ahead and kept taking pictures, and she was so, so precious asleep in her momma's arms! Melt your heart.

Little Things

I enjoy photographing people most. I love meeting new families. I'm energized by fun hs seniors. I love, love, love tiny newborns. I adore all those happy, smiley babies... so it's good that I photograph people. :)
But I also have NO IDEA why I don't own a macro lens (come on Bethany!), because I really enjoy photographing the little things in life. I usually wander around our front yard each season to see what pretty foliage I can capture, because I'm amazed at the beautiful detail in God's creation. Super tiny veins in a multi-colored leaf... So Amazing!

"Delicious!"

"Delicious!" is one of Jude's favorite words to use when he tastes something he likes. And it sounds so cute being said in excitement with his little boy voice.

I've recently picked up the book Deceptively Delicious after having a couple friends recommend it. I really like it so far, and our neighbor's recommend the sweet potato mac n' cheese, with a double dose of the sweet potato.

The main idea of the book is to add healthy vegetable purees (that match in color) to the foods you already make. So that's why you'd put a little sweet potato in your home made mac n' cheese, because it matches, for those of you who may have needed a bit more explanation. :)

Well, today I'm baking up a bunch of veggies to puree and put in my freezer, and as I pulled the foil wrapped beets out of the hot oven I instantly thought of what Dwight Schrute's beet farm must smell like! What really cracked me up is that in my mind it's a real place. :)

What's NOT so delicious, is that today Jude tasted his markers for the first time, and that's actually what he's doing in that first photo above... giving me a "caught" smirk and with his eyes telling me that he just might find those markers to be a tad bit delicious.

Megan. '09...

So, I'm jumping a little ahead here because I haven't even edited this session yet, just this one picture... :) I kept thinking about it after her shoot wondering how it came out, so I pulled it up tonight before bed and I really like it. I had a great time photographing Megan and her friend Kashia at the same time! Both girls are captains of their dance team and very athletic. I love when seniors are up for anything creative during their shoots and are ok with unusual locations. I'll have their posts later. Both are such beautiful girls!

Sweet Thing

I'm almost finished editing this family session, but little Ella is SO cute that I couldn't help but post this shot of her beautiful blue eyes now. She was looking at the butterflies hanging from the ceiling in her room. Adorable girl! More of their family shoot to come soon...

Milestones

Rowen just celebrated his 2nd birthday recently and his little brother Jonas just hit the 6 month mark. Jonas is Selah's boyfriend, for those of you who don't know. lol :) Here he is eating his foot.

Rowen and Jude are good buddies and they often make each other laugh and fight over trucks and tractors. Here's Rowen being his cute little self.

Jonas really looks up to his big brother already.
