Gotta get me some gold foil pants!

Ok, so I'm ready to join one of these random dance groups! Where do I sign up? Only, I want to dance to an 80's Michael Jackson song! :)



Speaking of Michael Jackson, this is so random, but Josh wears white socks to work a lot of days with his dress jeans and black dress shoes. His co-worker Dan often calls him Michael because of it. But now he just says, "Ow!" (in classic, high pitch MJ voice) when he spots Josh's almost daily fashion trend. Cracks me up!

Lauren & Family

I love shooting at new locations and love when I show up for a shoot and am surprised by so many great little spot to choose from! This family lives on a really pretty piece of property and have lots of space for little Lauren to run and play. She loves to be outdoors and was so easy to photograph. Here are some of my favorites.

Buddies

Jude's best buddy is Rowen. He just loves to play with him and they can be all boy together... although, they tend to be less rowdy than most boys, but still all boy. :) They love to play with trucks and trains, and Jude gets a kick out of the funny things Rowen does, like hide in the toy box.
Today they got to enjoy a special treat together, after a warm morning of strawberry picking. Here are a couple snapshots...


I love the drips on their clothes. :) What a couple of cuties.


Jude was really excited to get an ice cream cone. He apparently wasted no time eating it.


And this was Rowen's very first cone! Go Rowen! So adorable.

Cute Little Toes

Had a wonderful weekend shooting a wedding with Josh and then a family shoot on a beautiful piece of property. Had to share these sweet feet and this happy face. I'll share more soon.



In other news around our house, Selah is teething like mad, poor girl. She's had her moments of trying to bite the floor. :) She's been needing and getting lots of extra cuddling and comfort. Today, in a moment of fussiness, I took her out to the backyard to try to distract her. We found two ripe raspberries on our bushes. I gave her one and she promptly said, "More!" in her cute raspy little voice. We also noticed one of our blueberry bushes will have ripe berries sometime soon. One of my dreams someday is to have a big backyard with fruit trees. I think it's because my grandparents had fruit trees when I was growing up and I LOVED it. So having a couple berry bushes is nerdly (is that a word?) exciting for me. :)

Lea & Darian

Lea just graduated and is going to work in the travel industry. She has such an excitement and passion for what she's doing - I just love it! We met in these beautiful woods that she grew up visiting regularly with her dad.




She wanted to capture herself amidst her books that she worked so hard to study through.



Her husband Darian now manages these forests! Isn't that cool? Darian was so enjoyable to be around and is one of those people that's really easy to talk to.





These two are really sweet together... married for almost 6 years now. Congrats on your new adventures Lea!

a few more of Orion

As promised, here are a few more of Orion, at 1:12am. I didn't want to keep grandparents waiting. :)











It was a dark, rainy day when I photographed Orion in his home. I try to avoid using flash at all costs, because I love natural light most. But I ended up using it a little bit, when it was just too dark to get adequate lighting. My camera (5D Mark II) rocks and has crazy high ISO, but I always shoot at the lowest ISO possible to avoid grain/noise. Anyway, I was shooting mostly at f/2 the whole shoot, but even near windows I had to put my ISO up to 3200 a couple times that day. Dark day. :)

Orion

It's true, I'm a proud new Aunt! Just call me Aunt Bethany from now on. :) Josh's brother Caleb & our sister-in-law Chloe became the beaming new parents of Orion Michael. I've been spoiled to get to see Orion three times in the past few weeks. He's so cute and cuddly and I love to kiss his little nose. When Jude held him for the first time he said, "I love my new little baby Orion."

I wanted to photograph him in the wooden bowls that Chloe & Monica (Orion's grandma) use for their catering business (www.eatyourheartout.biz). This bowl was used at Chloe & Caleb's wedding reception too. I'll have a lot of his photos to share very soon. Maybe tonight.

Sorry for my lack of blogging lately! I've been really busy and all of this beautiful weather lures me away in all my spare moments. I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!
