Allie & Casey: Engagement

I had the best time with Allie & Casey, as we ran around their old college stomping ground in Corvallis! We walked the downtown alleyways, ventured up to Chip Ross Park, and had a great time running around on OSU's football field, where Casey played Beaver Football in college! It was a perfect winter day, with two people who could not be more made for each other. I adore these two and I'm so excited to capture their wedding day this summer in Lake Oswego.

Here are a bunch of my favorites!
My favorite...

The Off Season

Being an Oregon photographer with less sunny days than other parts of the country, my photography season is shorter, and tends to follow a very routine annual cycle. I try to take January/February off and recover from the busy 6 months prior. I also usually am doing some engagement photos at this time or meeting with brides/grooms. Then in spring I get excited about the nice weather and do sporadic photo shoots, celebrate our kids' birthdays and Josh and my anniversary, then summer hits and it's lots of weddings, then in the fall many families like to have their photos taken with the beautiful changing colors. It's always fun to see those familiar faces that I adore year after year. Then there's lots of catching up on editing and trying to wrap it all up before the holidays! :)

This year I've found myself thinking a lot more about my business in this off season, and I feel blessed to be able to mold it around our family life! Our kids are growing up so quickly and I just want to relish every bit of their youth. This year I'll be doing just a little less than normal. Josh and I have looked at our calendar and set aside specific dates for portrait sessions. I'll be shooting weddings through June & July, then taking the month of August off to enjoy some summer family time, and then I'll have openings for family photos shoots in September and October. If you'd like to get on my calendar this year please don't hesitate to email, as I'm already booking those dates!

On another note, I've realized that when I started a personal family blog a year or more ago I pretty much quit posting personal family photos on here! I'll try to add a little more of those to the mix this year, but you can also follow me on Instagram, since I'm often posting on there! :) Here's my Instagram link: http://instagram.com/bethanyfegles

I hope your 2014 is off to a great start!

I'm alive! ;)

I feel like I've been MIA since Thanksgiving, because I pretty much have! I just wanted to pop in and say hi and let everyone know we are still alive! Just barely. ;) No, actually we're doing much better, but our family has been sick for the past few weeks and it's been so exhausting that I've hardly been able to send an email. So I apologize to the MANY of you who have emailed or FB messaged me and I have not returned any! So sorry! It's been weighing on me, but you know when you are so sick that you see people just living every day life and wonder how they have the energy to do it? That's what it's felt like. We're thankfully better now and I FINALLY feel like I have the energy to function again, so thanks for your patience as I begin to work my way through an inbox full of emails! I care about each and every one of you! :)

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years!

Happy Birthday Marisa!

I had a great time photographing the Colemans this fall. I adore them all.

We met at an apple orchard out in the country, off of Scholls Ferry. I love that area and always love the drive out there. Marisa couldn't have picked better colors for the setting!

In honor of Marisa's birthday today I posted lots of photos of her. :) I think as moms, especially in this life stage, it's easy for us to forget to get photos with our children individually, and sometimes simply just of ourselves. I love that she thought to ask for individual photos with Sydney, Elijah, & Nathaniel! She's inspired me to do the same. Give her some love and leave her a Happy Birthday comment!
I feel like this photo (below) on the right sums up the Colemans in one shot. It's my favorite! :)
I couldn't help myself and I had to post this one too... I love these ages!
