Kate's Senior Photos

Here's just one tiny sneak peek from Kate's session. Beautiful girl.

September is my busiest month of the year! I end up shooting more than editing it seems, so by the end of September and into October I'm usually backed up in editing. I know it's this way for many photographers. So, I have several sessions to still sort through this week! Thanks for your patience! You're all wonderful! :)

Melissa's Senior Photos

Melissa is a natural smiler. She has a truly joyful personality and it comes through her smile! I took her and friend Kate's senior photos together just before my surgery and they've been so patient with me as I've put the finishing touches on their photos. Kate's will be on here in the next day or two.

Grandparent's Orchard

September always makes me think of picking pears and apples in my grandparent's orchard in Corvallis. They lived in this beautiful 1800's home on a tree lined driveway. My Granddad was a master gardener and his place seemed beautiful year round. In my teen years when I'd sense that first bit of fall crispness in the air I'd usually make my way over to their place immediately, checking to see if the fruit was ready to pick, because I loved to go home and dry it! Have you had freshly dried pears?! Amazing! Grandma always had yummy dried fruit on her dining room table when we'd come to visit and I loved that. I aspired to be "homey" like her. :)
My Granddad passed away in May, and this September I've found myself thinking about him a lot. I miss his charming smile and laugh, and I miss his good strong hugs whenever I'd say goodbye.
This past weekend I got to go out to my grandparent's place and take some family photos for some dear friends I've known for many years. (I'll have their beautiful family shots to post here soon). While we were there I asked my friend to snap a photo of my family there in the orchard too so that I'd have a sweet keepsake to remind me of my memories there with Granddad and Grandma. (p.s. errrr, rather, she took a gazillion photos to try to get Jude to look at the camera w/ out talking or begging for a lollipop... as we all know, photographing a two year old is no small task! Thanks Heather!) :)

Baby on a Blanket

I love "Baby Legs". I just think they're one of the cutest things out there. I look at them a lot, but I've never bought a pair for Selah. And my favorite photos of babies wearing them are the ones where it's like a 6 mo. old that's super chubby and they're sitting up smiling in nothing but their Baby Leggings. So cute!! So you know I'm going to have to get one of those shots in a month or two of our little Selah girl. :)
After errands this afternoon we got home and on our front porch was an adorable bag & precious card from my dear friend Mauria, and in the bag were 2 pair of Baby Legs for Selah! I was soooo excited that we didn't even take Selah in the house. I just grabbed my camera and took a few shots of her in the front yard in a pair of them. :) My favorite shot is this next one here. And Josh took the sweet one of me holding her. (Thank you Mauria! You know me so well.)
BTW, I'll have to post them later, but while Josh was edging our little lawn tonight Jude had out his plastic hoe and was following behind Josh with his yard tool working just as hard as daddy was. It was so cute! He continually melts my heart, my boy!

Nick's Serious Senior Photos

Nick has a great face. I know it sounds funny to say that, but he has great bone structure and was really fun to photograph. I posted most of his serious shots here and ended this series of photos with a pic that shows a bit of his fun personality. I'll have to do a little line up, one of these days, from a dozen shots I fired off right as we were finishing shooting. He was cracking me up! Nick has personality and looks. And he's a talented guitar player ladies! :)

So much to say today :)

Last night I took the kids for a long stroller ride around the neighborhoods and it was great. I love September evenings in Oregon! They're really one of my favorite things. It felt especially good because I've been on the mend from having surgery about a week ago and I was finally OUT and about! Yes, yesterday was my first real day of not spending the majority of the day resting. I'm still not lifting the kids or anything too heavy, but I'm feeling great.
When we got back to the house our neighbors were out playing and James was looking so cute sitting in his front yard. Here he's showing me his great stretching skills. :) Look at that toe point! Isn't he such a cute little guy? He's always happy.
And speaking of another cutie who is always smiling, the bw photos are of 4 mo old Jonas. You know, Selah's boyfriend? I'm sure you've all figured that out by now. :) Jonas' mom, Mauria and I are super close friends and she was so sweet to come hang out with me the past few days and we let our boys play and our little ones smile at each other. I love Jonas' striped b/w leggings!
Then the last photo in this line up is for fun. Josh took it of me as I was waiting to go into the surgery room. Too bad you can't see my cute little matching blue booties! Can you say hot?! :) I was pretty nervous. In fact I told the anesthesiologist, as I was shaking on the table, that I wasn't cold but quite nervous about surgery - and then I woke up! :) So weird. I don't even remember falling asleep as I was talking to him.

Our Sweet One . 4 1/2 mo Old
