Ian & Sarah: Engagement

Ian & Sarah's story is so sweet and their story starts a long time ago. :) They've known one another since late childhood/early teens and their families are friends. Ian was sort of the big brother she never had and she was sort of the little sister he never had.

Then, about a year ago, Ian realized that whenever he was at a function he would find himself looking for Sarah first. Always hoping to see her. Isn't that so sweet?! ... doesn't your hopeless romantic mind just picture him standing tall, looking over a room... he spots her, she looks up, their eyes meet... ha, ha. Ok, maybe not so cheesy, but oh so sweet. :)

They are one amazing couple, so beautiful in and out. And I had way too much fun taking their pictures!
(BTW, I loved the way they dressed!)

I couldn't decide, so I'm practically posting their whole shoot. :)

A few times I asked them to give me some goofy photos and they came up with the BEST stuff!

Sweet Family

Photobucket
These guys are troopers. When I photographed them last year it was literally in a downpour of rain! And we stayed under any tiny bit of shelter we could find. We were scheduled last week to do their session and we got rained out, and there was no way I was going to photograph them in a downpour again! So we decided to beat the rainy afternoon forecast by meeting early in the morning and it worked! :)
Jen is such a genuine person, and always has a smile on her face. She makes me want to smile. She and Mike are really sweet and have one very cute little boy!
I love how Derek's toddling here... (he's a great walker and a climber too!)

And he's off!...

Little things in life...

We had a great weekend! It started out with a date night for Josh and me on Friday night. It was so relaxing and rejuvenating. I love staring into those beautiful eyes of his and eating good food. When you can't remember the last time you went on a date, that's the best time to go on one! :)

Then I had a great photo shoot Saturday morning with a wonderful family! Their little guy is at a really fun age and is so adorable. I'll have their photos to share soon.

Then... a moment I've been waiting for, happened. I've been trying to find a chair similar to this one at Anthropologie for months. I want to reupholster a chair and make it super cute. I don't know how to reupholster :), but I know a fantastic woman who does (aka Grandma) and she's willing to teach me, so I'm looking forward to that. Anyway, Josh and I thought it would be fun to go to a couple garage sales, like the good 'ol days this weekend. We haven't been in a few years and I thought it would be fun to try to find the chair I've been looking for. Well, the first house we stopped at we found this little gem!

I was so excited! So of course I was on a mission at that moment and wanted to ditch all other garage sales and start shopping for fabric. :)
Whenever little moments like this happen in life I have to just stop and say, "Thank you Lord. You bless me with the smallest, silliest things, that always bring me so much joy."

And lastly, we planted a rosemary bush in the front yard. :)
