Uh-oh

Josh and I were laughing in the car the other day. After Jude finished eating a cracker we hear him call out from the backseat, "Wipe please". So we handed him a baby wipe so he could clean his hands. I'm sure there are a lot of messy toddlers out there that also enjoy being clean, but this side of Jude is sort of entertaining to me.
These pics were shot over a month ago and I just remembered them today. Jude found my bag of pretzels I'd been snacking on and for whatever reason took them down to the entry way... then put them high over his head and ... oops. Pretzels all over the floor. The whole bag, empty. He didn't like the feeling of them stuck to the bottom of his feet after stepping in them so he quickly took care of that, and then knew just what to ask for to clean up the remains that ended up scattered down the hallway. :)
I LOVE this age.

Dani's Senior Photos

I had a great time shooting Dani's senior photos tonight. After a week of crazy hot weather we got some crummy rain this evening and it started right about when we started shooting photos! But Dani was such a sport and just went with it. Here's just three shots I wanted to edit before bed and before she heads out of town so she could get a sneak peek.

Jude - My Bike Boy

So, I love this cute little swimsuit that Selah has. I wanted Josh to get a couple pics of her in it the other night when we were hanging out in the front yard because I think it's just so cute and girly. :)
And then there's my Jude bug, who is in love with bikes and helmets these days. Josh will occasionally ride his bike to work and Jude loves all things daddy! So Josh got him a little bike and helmet that he gets super excited about every morning when he wakes up and sees it and remembers that he'll once again get to play on it. :)

The last shot on this line up is of one of the little neighbor girl's bell on her bike that I thought was so cute: "i love my mom". Love it!

Determination!

I love this shot of Jude from tonight! The neighbor girls were helping him ride his bike (since he can hardly reach the pedals) and his expression just cracked me up. He's so serious, concentrating on where he's going, with fierce determination. Go Jude.

My Kiddos! ... and a lot of text. :)

I am soaking up every moment with my sweet kids these days! I just love this stage of life and how much fun we're having together. I love that Jude talks about everything and is communicating so well, and Selah just loves to be a part of everything that's going on. She has such a great little personality too!
I noticed a couple weeks ago that I hadn't been "documenting" our life much since Selah was born. I use to take pictures of everything. And I bought these leather albums I love, six at a time. Because I'd print my photos (in quantities of like 50 or 100!), bring them home and load them right into my albums... and they'd fill up quickly. Well, things have been a bit crazy & busy and for whatever reason I just haven't been snapping a lot of pics of our life. So, it's been really fun because this past week I've tried to be quick to grab my camera (or even our old point and shoot) and capture a moment I love, regardless of my silly photographer-brain that worries about "less than perfect photo outcome"... and I'm loving getting them printed again. There's something so great about holding your pictures in your hands or pulling a nice album off the shelf and flipping through the pages, going, "Oh, remember that! We were so skinny then!" :) ha!
My good friend and neighbor, Rosie, had the idea of making photo books for her kids each year and I love that idea and would like to start doing that. It would make a special annual Christmas or birthday gift for our children as they grow up.
So... even though the lighting isn't perfect in these and they're just quick snapshots, I thought I'd share Selah half way through getting dressed, and Jude doing a little reading before going to bed. :) Because I love remembering little every day moments. I'm so thankful for my children and my heart just beams joyful gratitude for the gift they are in my and Josh's life! ...Now if only we could get Jude to give up that bedtime binky... :)

Phillip + Whitney

Phillip and Whitney are one of the sweetest couples I've photographed - it was so obvious how much they love each other. Can't you see it in just this first photo?! I posted a lot of the more serious or "emotional" photos here in the beginning, then ended with some of the fun family shots with their adorable daughter. What a sweet family.
(Phillip + Whitney, your session's slide show is up on my website. Just type in your password in the "client" section and happy viewing!)

Friends

Tonight when I got home from doing a senior shoot our good friend & neighbor, Linda, had stopped by for a visit with her granddaughter, Ania, to see us and check up on Jude. We LOVE their company! We hung out visiting, enjoying the warm summer evening weather. At one point I caught Ania and Jude sitting on the doorstep reading the letters in the "welcome" mat. It was so cute (pictured below). They were pointing to the letters they were saying out loud. The other shot is of the two of them playing peek-a-boo in my blue patio chair. Isn't Ania a beautiful girl?!
