Kate Margaret & Carter

Kate & Carter are Irish Twins. Do you know what that means? It means their mom is a super hero!! Kate & Carter are less than 1 year apart in age! Nancy and Matt, you are amazing and your children are a joy to be around!

Is Kate not the most precious thing?

I just love this little man's joy and easy going personality!

Ok, family photos up next - I'm blogging this shoot in stages! Too many cute photos! :)

Happy Guy!

I loved today's shoot of Nancy & Matt's beautiful family. It felt great to get back into the swing of things after taking January off!
Here's just one photo to share tonight of their joyful son Carter! Isn't he adorable?

Check back for the rest of their session sometime this week.

Week 8: Photo 52 weeks

Ok, I've adjusted my photo project to be more realistic to my life. :)

Today I wanted to post in honor of Valentine's Day, which is tomorrow! Usually Josh and I are the worst people when it comes to celebrating things like Valentine's Day, or birthdays! We exchange cards with meaningful words (my favorite thing!), but that's usually it, and then we laugh about how pathetic we are at celebrating things (even though we're both pretty content with just sharing love notes/cards). But then sometimes we make up for the "lazy years" and we do something big. This year I thought it would be fun to mix it up and surprise Josh with a date night! I'm going to pick him up from work and take him out to dinner. (Don't worry, he doesn't read my blog unless I show him I posted something, haha, so he won't see this!) I apologize in advance if this post is sappy!

One thing I like to do each year for Valentine's Day is make Josh's card. I got a simple idea from Pinterest for this year's card and this is what I made...

Things I love about Josh and I'm thankful for:
1. He cares!
2. He's gracious. I'm so free to just be ME. He's never tried to change me. He loves me as I am.
3. He makes me laugh. Especially his witty comments when I least expect them!
4. He loves, selflessly.
5. He is consistent. Steady.
6. He's the best company! I don't think I could ever get tired of being with him!
7. He's an incredible dad!
8. He's thoughtful!
9. He's a hard worker.
10. He likes to challenge himself and is usually trying "something new", which right now is green smoothies for breakfast and working out each day. I'm really proud of him for sticking with this trend! (The only "something new" I really wasn't a fan of was when he tried a nightly "8 hour sleep experiment" when Benjamin was a newborn. We both still look back at that and laugh! I was supportive of it until I was too sleep deprived to be supportive anymore, haha!) :)

I always remember my Grandma Gayle saying, "Marry your best friend." She was right.
I love you, Josh! Thanks for being so handsome inside and out and for being my best friend! xo

I've been wanting to get a pillow for one of our leather chairs for a while now, to add a little more color to the room. Yesterday I had the idea to make one from some upholstery fabric I already had on hand. Jude and Selah were really excited to help, but just as we were getting everything set up to sew Selah accidentally opened a drawer straight into Jude's face and gave him a fat lip. :( Poor Jude. He decided he was done helping at that point, but he made us laugh by walking around with a big band-aid over his lip. He looked so cute. :) I love kids!

Happy Friday!

Day 33: Photo 366

Sorry I missed posting yesterday! I had such a busy day that I was asleep on the couch around 9pm! (That's early for this night owl) :)
I'm going to tweak my photo project since I'm just not thinking to take a photo until evening time each day, and then it turns into "what can I shoot?" :/ ...and that's not cool. I'm finding myself posting mediocre pictures that I'm not too excited about. SO, instead of posting daily, I'm going to post weekly. Thanks for letting me keep it real!
The rains are back in Oregon. That sunshine was such a wonderful break!! I'm glad we got to enjoy it!

Day 32: Photo 366

I took this picture last week, but it's new to you! ;) Can you say, P-r-o-c-r-a-s-t-i-n-a-t-o-r?

I look forward to making my cup of tea each day. A little honey. A little almond milk. Mmmmm, warm and cozy.

Day 31: Photo 366

Can you figure out what's going on here? It helps to take a big step back and look at it from a distance. Take a guess! :)

Day 30: Photo 366

Today my mom and siblings came up to Portland so we could celebrate my mom's birthday. We had a lot of fun together as always! We went and saw War Horse (amazing movie!!) and then came back to our house for cake and tea. (Thank you Josh for whipping up a mean cake!!) Happy Birthday Mom, we love you! xo

P.s. Yes, Selah is wearing a cave girl dress up outfit, if you're wondering. ;)

Day 29: Photo 366

Ok people, I am just not good at this Photo a day thing! I seriously feel like I think of taking a photo around 10pm every night! Ack!
I'm on day 29 and I've thought of quitting the past 28 days. :) Tomorrow is day 30... one month... is that a good stopping point?? ;)

I never shared any photos that my brother Caleb snapped of our family last November out in my mom's field. It's always a challenge to get my kids to all look at the camera at the same time, so between one dancing grandma and an uncle who was pretty much continuously shooting, we got one! :)
