Look out world... here I come

I can't believe it was a year ago that I photographed Isaac as a newborn, all curled up on an antique scale! Now he's on the move, full of personality, and throwing Curious George all over the room! :) Don't be fooled by the shots of him sitting still. He stayed in one spot for about a millisecond, then he was off to peek out the window, to give Curious George another throw, and to keep me chasing after him. :) I loved it! Isaac, you're as sweet as they come. Happy first birthday little man!

All kinds of ridiculous... photos. :)

There's nothing more fun than being your crazy self with family. I know I've posted about this before. I laugh so hard when we're together and love that I can be a total dork around them... I just love my family. In fact, Josh & I got to see all of our parents this past week and it was wonderful! We just soaked it up. My mom & Wayne helped us with the kids while we spent some time with friends, Josh's parents came and stayed with us so we could attend a function w/ Josh's work, and my dad and Janet came up yesterday and went to the zoo with me and the kids and bought us elephant ears!

I couldn't resist posting these photos I came across today while going through '08 files on my computer. Looking at them made me laugh about as hard as we were laughing when we were taking them. Matt & Gina kill me - they're so funny. And they may kill me for posting these. :) Matt took a couple shots of me too... Caleb and Josh, the camera is coming for you the next time we get together!!

In case you're having a tough time making out what this second shot is because my whites are all blown out :), Gina has her white scarf around his neck and he's trying to get away.

There was a "magical" gust of wind that blew through at just the right time and caught my scarf. :) (I should clarify that this "magical gust of wind" was Gina's hand holding my scarf)

I'll give you a quick run down on these fabulous people.
Matt:
. my older brother
. very musically talented... can play pretty much any instrument he picks up
. writes songs w/ lyrics that I think could be published
. has a gentle heart
. he's very creative and somehow his great sense of humor is always mixed into whatever he creates!! Seriously, he always has us laughing... with amazement. (Matt, I still want to laugh when I think about the kid restaurant website you built)
. builds his own computers

Gina:
. my sister-in-law
. has mad drumming skills
. has the sweetest heart and loves on everyone
. likes to eat fat and somehow has no fat on her body!
. is super computer savvy and a great business manager
. knits the cutest things

I'll post info and photos of my younger brother Caleb and husband Josh the next time we all get together! :)

{ Baby Elijah } 8 days old

Oh man, this little guy is a-dor-a-ble. Precious little guy! I just love his family and always enjoy photographing them. (I've photographed his big sister Sydney since she her first birthday and little Elijah was photographed in his mommy's tummy when I did some maternity shots for her a couple months ago.) :)
I have to get to bed, so I only got to process these 3 shots tonight, but I'll post more from his shoot soon.

Brother's Hat

What is it about a baby in a onesie? I just always want to give Selah extra kisses and squeezes when she's in just a onesie. :) This was during brother Jude's nap yesterday and she grabbed hold of his hat. I put it on her and couldn't help but take her pic. These are just some snaps sitting on our couch by the window. I love the shadows that come with window light.

{ Samantha + Tucker } = gushy stuff

I had a wonderful weekend. I got to photograph Sam & Tucker's engagement photos on OSU's campus in Corvallis. I grew up there, so it's near and dear to my heart. We had a great time! Josh and I have known Sam & Tucker for about 4 years. Josh came along on the shoot too and Sam's closest friend Heather, who we also adore to pieces, came along as well, so it was just a little party!
Afterwards Josh and I went out for lunch at Local Boyz (link here) which is the best Hawaiian food on campus. Oh yum. And that night we played cards (Spades) with our friends who live down there. A great day.
I had a tough time deciding which photos to post because Sam & Tucker are so cute, so here's a boat load of photos. :)

Coming Soon...

I've had an idea for awhile, brewing in the back of my mind. I love to photograph hs seniors and I love that I get to do so many graduate sessions each year!

I'm developing a new hs senior package for Bethany F Photography called Senior Couture sessions. It's designed for seniors who love fashion, or modeling... or are maybe crazy fans of ANTM (America's Next Top Model)? :) No, it's really for any hs senior who would love to go all out on a photo shoot with the hair, make up, outfits and take a little direction while modeling for the camera in a totally laid back environment. I wish I could do it! :) We're out to have fun and capture YOU. Another session is coming later this month so look for it (I'm sure it will take on another look of it's own)! More details and pricing will be coming soon too. We're gearing up to start booking these sessions in late spring/early summer.

My beautiful, and long time friend, Hayley, is a hair stylist in downtown Portland and will be doing the hair and make up for Bethany F Photography's Senior Couture sessions. Hayley and I recently did a shoot, as we're developing the process, and here are some preliminary images (ok a lot of images) of her. She's as sweet as a person can be, so don't be fooled by all of the "fierce" faces! ;) Stay tuned for another preliminary Senior Couture session later this month!
