A post of This and That while I'm finishing up a couple sessions...
So this is no doubt the busy season for me. It's like a photo editing traffic jam around here! :) Cd's, albums or prints are practically being mailed daily, prints are being ordered, emails being returned, pictures edited, and photo shoots happening like crazy as we approach fall. Every year there are about 4 weeks that are especially busy like this.
Jude & Selah are such great little helpers. When we go to the post office and use the automated machine Selah likes to help push the buttons and Jude always wants to put the sticker stamps on the envelopes. See, you had no idea your packages were being mailed with such love and care? :)
Speaking of my cute little helpers, yesterday morning the kids and I sliced and dehydrate pears. Selah sat in my lap while we cut and peeled and then Jude piled them into the dehydrator for us. Dried pears are one of our favorite things to snack on. Yum! ...oooo, another yummy thing to snack on are Trader Joe's snicker doodle cookies (baked from the dough in the freezer section - go buy them now!) That was a little off topic, but you'll be happy I shared that with you.
This has been a really fun summer for me with the kids. I love these ages! We've played a lot at the Wilsonville fountains, had picnic lunches, played at friend's houses, we've gone for stroller rides/walks, played at the park across the street... the kids have had a good amount of fights over toys in the living room too. :) The other fun thing about this stage is to see the total boy and total girl coming out in them. Jude loves trucks and rocks and digging, and Selah loves her baby dolls, bottles, clothes, and especially.... shoes. This girl loves shoes! She's always bringing me a pair to put on. In fact, sometimes after I've put a pair on her she grabs another pair for the road, as we walk out the door. Yesterday I put shorts and a t-shirt on her and she wanted to wear her new pink boots. She was so excited. I went with it, and thought it was really cute.
Lastly, please say a little prayer for Jude. We discovered some medical issues with him a year ago when he got what we thought was a virus and was hospitalized... after a couple weeks of issues, I started to ask the doctors to check his blood sugar each time we had an issue. We figured out he has ketonic hypoglycemia. We've been careful to make sure he eats protein/whole grains regularly and we're always watching for signs of low blood sugar.
Our new doctor has recently been doing some extensive blood tests and an endocrinologist is going to look at Jude's new blood work. They're currently trying to rule a couple things out and we'll hopefully know more in a week or so. I feel really good about our new doctor and the care Jude is receiving, finally! So that's a praise!
I'm praying that whatever quirky thing is going on inside that cute little body of his will be discovered soon, so that we can learn how to best help him. It's hard to see your little guy deal with anything uncomfortable, even if it's just swinging blood sugar, or getting blood drawn. :(
Thanks friends!

Fun update Bethany. Hilarious that Selah loves shoes so much! :) I will pray for Jude and that the Dr. would be patient enough to really find something and committed to you guys. The Lord is always using things like this to sanctify us and make us fall at his feet so I pray that for you guys. Keep us posted please.
Great update!! I miss Trader Joes SO much!!! That was my little "hang out" spot and there is NONE here! Your kids are just sweet peas! Delicious! Praying for sweet Jude, we'll add him to our morning prayer list too. Keep us posted. (((HUGS)))
One of my closest friends' daughter has that too. It will be interesting to find out what your doctor has to say. It is scary when they start to go "in the zone". We will be praying for you cute little guy!
I love reading about little Selah, since she and Jacoby are the same age. It's fun to see how kids are the same and different :) She's such a cutie! We'll say a prayer for Jude as well.
